Freelance writer and infamous jazz fiend, Sarah Crisman, spends her days sleeping and her nights working with some of today’s brightest, most energetic musicians including Snarky Puppy, Backside Pick, Smiling at the Ceiling, Moosehound, Bernard Wright, Brian Girley, Paul Slavens, New Vintage, and pretty much any other fool who has fancied through the North Texas Jazz Program at one point or another. Based in Denton, Texas, she flees to New Orleans on a regular basis in the perpetual search for awe-inspiring, booty-shaking music (and whatever seasonal Abita is on tap).
Crisman has formerly worked as Music Editor for Pegasus News and as a social media analyst for The Diffusion Group. She can now be heard as a commentator for KERA 90.1 (that’s Dallas-speak for NPR), and is known to appear with little-to-no warning at jazz joints the world over.

Are you really from Denton? That’s where I go to school! Ha! at UNT.
